Album Notes - Music To Harmonize The Aura (Formerly "Mother Of Pearl")

This is a digital remix, editing and remastering by Warren Dennis Kahn at Banquet Sound Studios, Santa Rosa, California (2001). Produced by Joel Andrews and Schawkie Roth.

Tone poems for meditation, relaxation, massage, harmonizing the aura, and the unfolding of love. "As musicians and composers, we believe this music to be of deep healing significance. For 7,000 years the harp and the flute have been complementing each other, and this ideal combination has been found to be uplifting and healing, especially for the heart and throat chakras."

In The New Age art forms are being combined to intensify effects. Knowing that fragrances act on the subtle psychic centers, these artists choose to work with the High Vibration Essences of Omar, some of the highest oils available in the world (which have been further blessed by this master perfumer). They were inhaled and placed on the forehead before each session. The musicians experienced an ecstatic lifting of consciousness which they have infused into these transcendent improvisations. The fragrances were "Mother of Pearl" and "Green Ray," and "Crystal."

Attunement for "Awakening in Peace" included a period of silent meditation followed by the chanting of "OM."

Album Notes - You Are The Ocean Vol. I

You Are The Ocean is one of the most popular "New Age Music" albums in the country. The calming sounds of the ocean and stream form the background for lyrical harp, flute and cello. Beautiful melodies with a delicate Oriental feeling interweave with flowing bamboo and alto flutes. The music is full of impressionistic tones and colors reflecting the influence of Debussy and Chinese Zen poets.

Deborah Henson-Conant is an internationally-recognized composer and arranger in her own right. With Schawkie Roth on flute she blossoms as an improviser and is featured as a soloist and arranger. Together they inspire, uplift and relax the listener with a unique sound and signature during a full hour of music.

The great sea
always speaks to you
moving over the earth
in endless waves, touching your heart.
And the great river of life sends forth music.
Earth and sea and the great river
move together, inspiring and deep love
rushing through our souls with joy.

Album Notes - You Are The Ocean Vol. II

You Are The Ocean II creates a soulful peace through flute, zither, harp, cello and the gentle sounds of the ocean and birds.

You are the ocean
one life, one sea
moving over the earth
like an infinite ecology.
Sparkling radiant sunlight
touches your body with life
and a soulfulness infuses you
to become the earth, trees, rivers,
oceans, birds and waves of a blessing,
loving each grain of sand nestling
in the story of creation and the sea
and in all green rolling hills
there is a constancy

Album Notes - Calling The Angels

The zither is an instrument of great beauty--it is truly the harp of the angels. Angelic presences are attracted to its celestial vibration, and the sound of angel voices seems to sing within it. Those who hear this music will rediscover inner peace, beauty and heavenly consciousness. It can be used for relaxation, meditation, contemplation and visualization. Listening awakens you to the angelic presence within you and opens your awareness of the angels of the other realms. May this music guide you to inner peace as you feel the presence of the angels!

Album Notes - Hymns For All Seasons

The music on this album came about through a collaboration with my minister, Frank Evans of the Community Congregational Church in Tiburon, California. All of the music was initially performed in the church over a period of about five years. As I relaxed into the expression of liturgical music, I began improvising on the melodies that lent themselves to improvisation. I also performed many hymns that were best suited to the classical flute. All in all, I found myself deeply moved by the music and the morning services.

Side 1 emphasizes more classical melodies, and features the superb harpist, Deborah Henson-Conant. Side 2 emphasizes those melodies that have lent themselves to improvisation for piano, flute, saxophone and the jazz quartet featuring Kit Walker, Susan Muscarella and Si Perkoff on piano. I am also grateful for the fine musicmanship and spirit expressed by Bill Douglas on string bass, and also the marvelous drum playing by George Marsh and Michael Aragon.

I would also like to acknowledge the loving support of my wife, Danielle, my co-ministers Frank Evans and Carol Gallacci, and all the composer of the hymns and melodies whose music really made this album possible. Most of all, I thank the Creator, the true giver of gifts and source of all creativity.

Album Notes - Music Is A River

Music Is A River is dedicated to the rivers, creeks and streams all over the world which inspire the many species on Earth to flow with the living spirit of water. Humans are only a part of the great wholeness of life in the Universe. Our ability to express the celebration of life through music is our gift to the Earth and to the greater Universe. Music which serves this deeper purpose will have a lasting value to people who seek healing and happiness through music. The question people should ask of music is...where is this music leading to? My answer is: the river, the soul contact with the river, the celebration of life in the water, the healing of soul, the closeness to the Earth and a respect for the gifts of Mother Nature.

Album Notes - Zen Flute of Interior Time

This album is a collection of inspired improvisations and composed melodies in the contemporary folk tradition. It is an effort of pure art for listening and meditation. The titles reflect states of consciousness, archetypal memories, and the story inherent in nature itself.

This music satisfies a longing in my soul for purity, truth, elevation, soulfulness, beauty, joy, sadness and human depth. The sound and the silence of Being come together in a unique way in certain passages. It is in these moments that you, the listener, can transcend time and let the music become the universal language of the Spirit.
